Honorable Mention Front Yard, Long Ago M. Kathryn Black Singing, I swung on the red gate, pretended I could fly. Honeysuckle cascaded on the other side facing the yard. I was a butterfly sipping sweet nectar from pale yellow blossoms. In pink heat pine scents wafted. Tiny roses were barely civilized in a bower over the door, and the soil was mostly sand. Cosmos grew in bright profusion while I climbed the bonsai bayberry tree, watching tiny red spider mites while breathing in the piquant air.
